Question about shotgun deer hunting
I had a question about using a shotgun for deer hunting. IN a few weeks i will be going hunting in Indiana and need to use a shotgun. The only shotgun I have is a semi auto turkey gun with 4 chokes. In Indiana i have to use a slug. Can i use a non rifled barrel to shoot a slug and what choke would i put in?

What kinda shotgun is it....I know some of the Benelli's & Mossberg 3 1/2" that have been backbored say shooting slugs is a "NO-NO"...
When I was growing up we use saboted slugs & improved cylinders for shotguns with slugs..& they had just regular shotgun barrels....no rifled slugged barrles.

The shotgun i an H&R. It is nothing fancy. I just have never shot any type of slug in it.

Read in your manual it says what ammo can be shot. You will need to check what choke tube you can use if you can shoot them. You can use certain handguns and pcr's. I use a marlin .44 mag riffle.

it has 4 chokes with it. It has a Turkey, improved, modified and full chokes.
