Default Hunting reports...

Yesterday Dad and I (grouseguy) went out for about a 2 or 3 hour hunt here in Carter county. Unfortunately a lot of the best patches on the place we were hunting have been logged this year, but we did find one lonely grouse over point. I missed with both barrels and he'll just have to go die of loneliness. Wasn't a bad walk though, got the blood pumping going up and down hills.

Truth be told...he didn't exactly miss...he harvested a very nice pine limb with the 2nd barrel.

I know...I know...paybacks are hell!

Like my grandaddy always said, you kill it you eat it. What did you marinate that limb in by the way? I have killed several and I find they are very hard to swallow.

There is nothing funnier than right after the shootings done, you're watching that bird SLOWLY fly away, and that low groan right before the limb falls down. I still laugh thinking about mine.

truth be told fellas, I don't think the limb was ripe, probably still a little tough, so I left it there for the coyotes.

And pooge, if I'm gonna teach you how to shoot, you better have lots o' shells.
