Since we are on the subject of blood suckers how about the ticks flying counterpart... These things have been terrible around our house this year and there is no standing water to be found anywhere! I have never tried a thermacell but I think I will buy one. I spend alot of time in my garage (like now) with the garage door open and I am getting ate up....

I have 2. Love them. Got one as a gift and found another at a yard sale BRAND NEW IN THE BOX for 2 bucks. My buddy said man you coulda got that for a buck. But for 2 bucks, I didn't care a bit.

What other insects do the thermacells work with. I have a big problem here with mosquitoes, HORSEFLIES, which I hate with a fearful passion, as I'm allergic to their bites, and when in the woods the deer flies, and horseflies, and winged blood suckers tare me up. Just wandering. also what's the price?

The thermacell definitely works, I've never had a horsefly get on me during deer season... The biggest help for me is the little black "no see ums" that look like a fleck of pepper but leave a welp twice the size of a mosquito... with the thermacell, early bowhunting is nice. I turn mine on and off to save butane, soon as a bug gets near me I turn it back on... makes the fuel last 3x longer...
