2008 hunting season

Next morning Sunday, September 7th. Same routine as first morning. This morningw as clear and cool, about 62 degrees. Was a wonderful morning to be out. Few squirrels and did see one deer, hunted a different stand, Dads old stand, been several deer taken here from this stand. Needs to be moved further down the hill probably. Thats a job for another day. May hunt tommorow morning and use climber down the hill. Well see. Plan to hunt this evening as of right now.

I guess we covered the one episode with me and bec hunting on the hunting tread but we did have a good afternoon that day. I have missed a day or two but the last time we were out was this past sunday, the day of the hurricane. Did the same routine and I wound up hunting dads old stand. The wind was blowing pretty good when I got in the stand. I was below the hill so it was not directly on me. I made a note to myself that something was going to happen weather wise cause we had a red sunrise and the cicadis were singing at daylight which I can say I have never heard before. I had not seen anything when dad called about 8:40 and said there was a deer headed my way and the thinks he hit it, sure enough no sooner than I put the phone in my pocket I see the deer cross the hill above me about 80 yards out. I called him and told him I did see it and we would wait till 9:30 to check it out. I went up the hill at 9:30 and did not see anything and backtracked to him. He had found his arrow and it did have some specks of blood on it. I could tell by the looks of it that it had not went through the body cavity. We went back over to where I had seen it last and did pick up a few drops of blood where the deer had obviously stood for a bit. We faned out and checked some more but found nothing else. We came on home and thats the last time we have been out. Plan to go in the morning so we shall see how that goes.
